Pregnancy Check-In With Tamera Mowry-Housley
Pregnancy sure looks good on Tamera Mowry-Housley! We caught up with the beautiful seven-months-preggers actress to get all the scoop on how she's feeling now that she's in her third trimester. That's right, her and Adam's baby boy will be here really soon! Tam's due on October 30.
How are you feeling at this stage of your pregnancy?
I'm starting to feel pregnant! I feel blessed to have an easy pregnancy—a lot of women don't have that experience. I feel the extra weight and my feet swell if I'm standing too long.
What else are you discovering about being pregnant?
I feel like I'm a mom already even though my child isn't born because I'm already making sacrifices. Your immune system isn't the best when you're pregnant, and you can't take medicines that other people can. I caught a really bad cold. I've been going through what a cold really feels like! But I smile when I think about the fact that I'm already making sacrifices for my child. I'm going through this for him. Although I may feel like crap today, I'm doing it for him because I want him to be the healthiest baby he can be. I also don't have as much energy as I used to. I can't exercise like I want to. Those are sacrifices that I happily make for my son.
How does your pregnancy compare to Tia's?
A lot of people think that because we're twins and we're sisters, we've experienced the same thing. Ironically, we haven't. Of course, we've gone through the same general stuff. But my sister had more of a difficult time than I did. It just goes to show that every pregnancy is different.
What's your favorite part about being with child?
Feeling my son kick! He has to be a very active, happy baby because this boy is forever kicking! I don't know if this is weird, but I get really excited for my doctor visits because I know that I get to see him. We get an ultrasound every single time we go, so I know that Adam and I will be able to see him. I get so giddy and so excited. That's what I love about being pregnant—feeling him kick and knowing that he's moving and that he seems to be happy!
What kinds of sounds does your son respond to?
He loves jazz and classical music. And he loves the sound of his father's voice. Whenever I'm just chillin' and his dad comes in, my son starts talking and kicking. He just LOVES the sound of his father's voice.
What's your least favorite part about being pregnant?
I never realized this about being pregnant, but carrying the extra weight and the affect that it has on your joints—your back, your knees, your ankles, even your toes! That has to be my least favorite thing.
How are you dressing now that you're in your third trimester?
I love to show off my baby bump! I don't like to hide it with big shirts and big dresses. I think pregnant women are beautiful. It's kind of weird, but I've noticed that I've been a lot more daring with my style since I've gotten pregnant. I just feel so empowered as a woman. I've never felt so confident before in my life and it's kind of ironic—maybe because this is the first time in my life where I don't have to worry about sucking in my gut!
Are you still wearing heels?
What's cool is that I can still wear my heels! I only wear them for two hours at a time and then I'm back to my flats.
What special skincare products that you are using?
I love mama mio products. They're great because they're all natural products, like body wash and belly cream.
Are you experiencing any crazy cravings?
I'm actually not. I love food, in general. So, I don't really think my cravings are so far off because I've always loved food. I do like salsa. It's not great for my acid reflex, but I gotta have it! I also gotta have Mexican food and pizza.
