Sister, Sister Is Coming to Style!
Hold onto your flip-out, flower hats! Sister, Sister, the '90s hit sitcom that made Tia and Tamera household names, is coming to Style! The comedy will air weekday mornings starting Monday, July 9, at 7 a.m. ET/PT, beginning with back-to-back episodes from the first season and continuing all throughout the summer.
Just to recap: The girls play long-lost twin sisters who are reunited during a chance encounter while shopping at the mall. They eventually convince their adopted single parents (Tim Reid and Jackée Harry) to have them all live under one roof to make up for lost time. They may look identical, but Tia and Tamera couldn't be anymore different. Tia is a top student who grew up in inner-city Detroit and Tamera is a boy-crazy teen from the suburbs. (The roles are reversed in real life, of course, with Tia being outgoing and Tamera being the reserved one.)
The craziness that ensues is hysterical! Just ask Tamera! "I catch Sister, Sister if it's on and I laugh my behind off!" she told myStyle. Her reaction to the outfits she wore on the show, however, incited a different yet equally strong emotion. "The clothes were hideous!" she said. "The wildest thing I wore was just all plaid—plaid hats, plaid vest!"
It wasn't all jokes and wacky fashions. "I'm really shocked at how long this show has had its run on TV. It first aired in '94 and people still want to see it! That's a blessing," she reflected. "Achieving a dream at such a young age was amazing. I definitely enjoyed every bit of it! Sister, Sister will always be one of the greatest moments of my life."
Catch Sister, Sister weekday mornings on Style starting this Monday (check local listings)—and see what the girls have going on now by watching new episodes of Tia & Tamera Monday nights at 8/7c.
