It's a Boy! Tamera Shares All the Scoop About Expecting a Son
Tamera Mowry-Housley has a lot to celebrate. It was just announced that she and hubby Adam are expecting a boy! Keep reading to see what the mom-to-be had to say about the news...
You told us in April that you wanted a boy. How did you react when you found out that you were, indeed, having a boy?
I threw my hands up in the air like I'd just made a touchdown! Adam and I are so excited!
Your husband played professional baseball. How did he feel when he found out he had a son on the way?
Adam saw the ultrasound, and our son had one of his hands in the curveball position, as if he was pitching. He said, "Look! Our son is already getting ready to throw his first curveball!" He can't wait. We're just really excited.
What about your sister? What did she have to say?
Tia responded with a big Yes! My sister is just excited for Cree to have really cool friend, a really cool playmate.
You're currently splitting your time between L.A. and Napa Valley. Where will you raise your son?
Adam and I plan on raising our son in both places. The nursery in my condo in Los Angeles is pretty much all ready to go. It's going to be a vintage baseball room.
You've been dressing sexier lately. Has being pregnant made you embrace your womanhood more?
I know women say this all the time, but when you're pregnant, you feel the sexiest you've ever felt before. It's so weird! I've even been getting whistled at! I'm like, OK! That might be going a little too far! But it's been great.
You changed up your Twitter page. The background and profile pics are hot! When was that photo shoot?
That was, honestly, right after I got married. My body is really starting to change now. I no longer have a baby bump; it's full-on pregnant belly! You kind of want to have a picture that reminds you of what you looked like before.
You've been wanting people to see you as grownup and sophisticated. Do you think you've achieved that?
Oh yeah! Being pregnant and having baby on the way definitely does that.
Tia has advised you to wear heels for as long as you can while you're pregnant. How's that working out?
I'm wearing heels, so I just go for it with Guiseppe Zanottis. They're three to four inches. They're comfortable, so far. I keep flats in my purse. When I have meetings, I'll wear the heels, and then when I go home, I'll put on my flats.
What other kinds of advice has your sister given you?
She's told me not to stress. That's the main thing. She told to make sure to allow things to roll off my back. Things stress you out; you can't allow that to affect you. She said to drink lots of water. She also did tell me to use coconut oil to prevent stretch marks. However, I modified it a bit. I added organic shea butter and organic coconut butter that I get from Whole Foods, and I just mix the two.
How have you been dressing for your baby bump?
Fun, hip maxi-dresses and wrap dresses are great! I will also put on some pregnancy jeans with a really cute wife beater and wear cute, colorful flats. But I'm also not afraid to expose my bump. A lot of the time, pregnant women are scared to show it off and will wear big things. That makes them look bigger than they are. I love my baby bump! I fell in love with it, so I like to accentuate it.
Fans will see you babysit Cree later in the season of Tia & Tamera. How did that experience prepare you?
Babysitting Cree really proved that you have to follow your instincts when it comes to taking care of a child. I had a list of things I was supposed to do, but sometimes it doesn't go as planned. You just have to follow your instincts. That's what really helped me. It made me feel good. It made me realize that I can do it; I can take care of a child. I wasn't scared at all. I actually had so much fun.
What kind of name would you like to give your son?
Adam and I haven't picked out a name yet, but I want to give him an exotic name—something different.
First-time moms are usually excited to dress their newborn. What will you be putting your son in?
I cannot wait to put my son in little Converse shoes. I'll also put him in a little pea coat—and flip the collar!
We know you love to sing! Will you be singing to your son every chance you get once he's here?
I am actually already singing to my son while he's in my belly. I just hum. I like to make up my own songs.
What are you looking forward to doing the most when your son finally arrives and is in your arms?
I can't wait to hold him. I can't wait to kiss him. I just can't wait to look into his eyes and kiss him all over!
