Alyson Dishes on Not Seeing Eye to Eye with Kimora
JustFab's Art Director Alyson Wilson gives Style the behind-the-scenes scoop on Kimora: House of Fab's premiere episode.
When we were make sets for Kimora's Fab Faves picks, we are thinking about how to communicate the trends behind her picks to our shoppers, not about how to suit her personal style and brand.
For me, it's all about the fashion and helping our members understand how wearable her picks are. Kimora likes over-the-top sexy glam as a rule, but that is only one type of shopper on our site. I always push to not alienate the casual chic or on-trend shopper when working with Kimora.
Lianca's understanding of Kimora is insanely helpful. She's a great translator of her needs. My allegiance is to the brand and fashion we're putting out there, but Lianca helped me understand how Kimora wants her style to be portrayed within that framework.
Overall, the shots turned out great. Kimora always takes a great picture and the items sold really well. Working with Kimora is definitely a balancing act, one that I am so grateful to have Lianca's help with.
