Austin's Tips For Balancing Work and Love
In this episode of Chicagolicious, we were introduced to the new man in Austin's life, Kenny. The makeup artist is hopelessly head over heels, but her infatuation causes her to put her career on the back burner. By the end of the episode, she learns to balance the two priorities in her life, and now wants to share those bits of wisdom with myStyle.com.
1. Make time to let them know you're thinking about them, but still make sure your priorities at work are taken care of first. It can be easy to get so caught up in a new romance that you forget that you had a life before you meet that person. By being cognizant of your goals, you can shower attention on your special someone while still performing at work. Keep a sharp eye on your duties at work by separating your work life from your love life.
2. Keep them updated on what's going on at work and what's new in your life, but don't let it slow down what you need to do. By telling the person you're dating about your work life, it strengthens your relationship and makes it easier for them to understand why you may not always be available. By explaining to them that you have an important project or deadline, it makes them more aware of pressures you may be facing at your job. This makes them more likely to support you instead of distracting you.
3. Make sure that they understand that work is important also and that even if you can't talk as much, they're still on your mind. It makes it that much better when you are able to talk. By not being extremely available all the time, the person you're dating will learn to appreciate the time you do have together more. Make it evident that even when you aren't together, you're always thinking about them.
