AJ Gets One Step Closer to His Dream
I've always been a beauty and image consultant while working behind the chair, so I felt that it was time to just bring it all full circle by doing on-air work because that's what I ultimately want to be known as in the media world. I initially was worried about impressing the producer with my segment idea, but I eventually found out me being me was what really impressed him. By showing my intellectualism and my knowledge of current affairs, I showed I cared about his field and would take any task with the utmost diligence. I am sure I will be doing more on-air beauty segments since the producer loved me and so did thousands of other viewers.
Handling two of my biggest diva clients in this episode was a huge responsibility that I entrusted to my team. I knew from dealing with these two divas for the past two years that they require a lot. That's why I had always managed them solo. I figured a team of two would needed for each woman since they know what they want and can be demanding.
For the masquerade ball preparations, I thought it was a good idea to pair up Val and Katrell because I knew Katrell would really rock Jenny's makeup while the hair would be a breeze for Val. I also hoped it would be an opportunity for them to learn to work together as a team. It's time they started acting like women and not like catty little girls. The end results for both Jenny and Laurie were great. I would never say one team is better than the other since they have their talents and specialties. Val, Katrell, Austin and MaCray all performed their best.
I was a little thrown off guard when I found out Howard had hired Jennifer because if there's anything that pertains to AJ's of Chicago and its PR department, it should always come through me first. Overall, Howard and Jennifer did a great job, and we were all happy with the outcome.
