Melissa on Workouts and Blasphemy
My motivation in trying to broker peace between Leslie and Bonnie was simply for peace among all our friends. I'm so tired of all the bickering! For once, I want every one of us to be able to hang out without there being friction of some kind. Bonnie came to me a while back and encouraged Leslie and me to make up, so I'm just giving back and trying to mend their falling out over Whitney and Kalyn's drama. It's not like Leslie personally did something to Bonnie. If she did or ever does something personally to Bonnie, I would not get in the middle.
When Leslie suggested that I skip the personal trainer and just get liposuction, I was offended, but only a little and only at first. Leslie tends to speak without thinking, plus she's always been an advocate of taking the easy way out when it comes to health and beauty... just like when she encouraged Kalyn to take diet pills and then took Kalyn to Dr. A for a lipo consult. I learned the hard way last year that taking the easy way out with diets (the HCG diet, in my case) is not the answer. Yes, I lost almost 16 pounds, but I gained it all back, plus two more. This time around it's gonna take sweating through workouts for me to lose weight and tone up.
I'm not at all intimidated by my personal trainer, Danny. Men have never intimidated me! LOL! Besides, what woman wouldn't want a hot guy alongside her for motivation? I picked Danny Connally from IncinR8 Fitness because after doing some extensive research, I found out that he is the BEST trainer in Dallas and his fitness studio offers unique, results-driven fitness classes that I couldn't find anywhere else.
Cindy and I working out with Danny was like two high school girls giggling and acting hormonally goofy over a hot guy! I could not get a serious workout in because of her overt flirting. Danny is super professional and Cindy's over-the-top flirting was making even him uncomfortable. I was beginning to think he just might end our workout session early and decide not to train us again ever again.
When Maddie walked in on my private workout session with Danny, it was a little awkward at first because from her point of view of us on the floor, it did look somewhat compromising and intimate. Our workout session had just ended and he was stretching me out as he always does. For some reason, I involuntarily laugh every time my left thigh is being stretched—I can't control it. So, when Maddie walks in while Danny has my left leg in the air with my calf against his shoulder, I totally understand that she might have thought something more than a workout was happening. When Danny left, Maddie ribbed me some about the "scene" she walked into but it was all in fun. She knew there was nothing inappropriate going on.
The baptism was difficult. Kalyn was distressed from the moment she saw her mother at her baptismal. I could see it in her face, and she was nervous and tense. Kalyn even told Maddie she was upset her mom was there. Kalyn had every right to be unsettled by her mom's surprise appearance. Terry has a way of flitting in and out of Kalyn's life, each time leaving Kalyn in an even more unhappy state than when she found her. If I had been in Leslie's shoes, I definitely would have consulted Kalyn first because of Kalyn and Terry's tumultuous history.
I need to go on the record here and say that I take baptism seriously. It's a personal life-changing decision that's chosen by the person going through baptism, NOT chosen by someone who wants to make her "godmother" status official. Baptism should have been Kalyn's idea, one that originated from her heart and not some "event" created by Leslie that Kalyn reluctantly agreed to do. That makes my stomach turn.
It was blasphemous, if you ask me.
