Growing up, Hairspray star Brittany Snow had her own way of making sure her 'do was a big sensation.

"I'm from Florida, and we had a very preppy thing going on. So, I would always wear ribbons," the actress told mystyle at the Do Something Awards (the pre-party to the Teen Choice Awards). "If you didn't wear a ribbon, you were not cool in my high school. I had a whole basket of different colored ribbons to match my polo shirts."

Today, Brittany prefers to mix and match. "My style is more relaxed. I don't spend too much money on clothes because I always buy vintage stuff." Her style icon? Why, the queen of boho chic, Kate Hudson, of course! "You can tell that she's very comfortable in what she wears."

Brittany's low-maintenance vibe is further evidenced by her favorite tip: "When you have a really small bag, all you need to have in it is lipstick in a red or brown color because you can also use on your cheeks and your eyes."

Know what doesn’t go with pink and charcoal? Orange. And yet Hollywood’s favorite nurse, Katherine Heigl, has chosen to accessorize this Diane von Furstenberg dress with the offending hue, swimming in burnt umber from head to toe—literally. Is there a trick to layering necklaces? How do you know which pieces go together? Also, would it be too much to rock layered necklaces and a printed top or dress?

There is a handy trick to layering necklaces, I have learned. It's easy to remember, and even easier to apply: One long, a few short. But I'll let E! stylist Adriana Gallarzo tell it.

While we love tinted moisturizing lipgloss, even the best can't stand up to surf and sun. Besides rubbing off, they stick to wind-blown hair. A lip stain is a far better option for hitting the beach. Our favorite? Stila's Cherry Crush. One coat makes you look like you just ate watermelon; two coats give you that red popsicle color; and with three (or more!), you can deepen your lips into a sexy red pout. Before applying, be sure you exfoliate—we just brush them with our toothbrush—and use your favorite SPF lip balm after staining to moisturize.

The satin teal Armando Piquer cocktail dress Eva Longoria Parker wore to the 2008 ALMA Awards lacked a certain "wow factor." Turn's out, the event's host was simply saving it for the big show—changing into nine gorgeous gowns (and hairstyles) during the ceremony!
