Would You Wear It? White Pumps

One statement piece we were surprised to see on the spring 2012 runway was white pumps. From Marc Jacobs to Bottega Veneta, the former fashion faux pas—once acceptable only at the wedding altar—was everywhere. Could it actually be the go-to shoe this summer?

Celeb tastemakers Rihanna, Sarah Jessica Parker and Mandy Moore have all been spotted in white pumps, and each opted to style them in different ways. This can be a difficult shoe to coordinate, but RiRi and Mandy pulled it off without a hitch. The bold brights on Rihanna's sweater and the funky print on Mandy's blazer drew the eye away from the shoe, making it just a component, not the focus, of the ensemble.

SJP's iteration actually landed her in our infamous Fashion DUI gallery. The all-white look plus black peekaboo bra made her seem like she was from another decade—and not in a retro-glam way!
