Unusual Collectible from a Hot New Label

Downtown darlings whose label was a runner-up for a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund designed this garment after having holed up at an NYC hotel during Fashion Week last year. You'll be surprised at the inspiration for this piece!

Designers don't just make garments for Fashion Week. In this case, they made them as a result of it.

Chris Peters and Shane Gabier, the duo that designs Creatures of the Wind, have created a robe. But not just any robe.

The garment was inspired by the designers' stay at the W Union Square hotel last Fashion Week (September 2012). Peters and Gabier holed up in the hotel's presidential suite for model castings and appointments with buyers and journalists. Inspired by the bright colors and contrasting decor elements of the room, the duo whipped up their first bathrobe.

Admittedly, this $250 one-off is for the committed fashion collector. For the rest of us? It will be the stuff of chatter come Fashion Week in February.
