Tia & Tamera's Cousin Jerome on Spreading Positivity

All throughout the second season of Tia & Tamera, the girls' cousin Jerome helps them work out their differences and communicate better. My grandmother tells the story to any and everyone about when she and my grandfather came to town for my birth. She looked at me for the first time and I was so awake, alert and focused. She said God told her in that moment that I would be her eyes, and that I would preach the Gospel. I was also told as a young child from people in church that I looked like a preacher. I would always get upset and say, What does a preacher look like? I never chose to be a minister. God called me. I started to heed the calling when I was 18. I remember one Sunday, as I was up singing in the service, how the congregation was affected by my ministering. I was touching people's lives and it was extemely humbling. As I got older, people would say to me, "Jerome, you preach as you sing." Soon enough, I just couldn't fight it. I was meant to be a minister.

I try to take every opportunity I can to encourage and uplift people. I'm grateful for the things that my mother instilled in me early on. One of the things that I was gifted with was powerful influence. I have been told both by my Facebook friends and my Twitter followers, that my daily status updates and tweets are a blessing. In the mornings, I greet my followers with Good morning, CHAMPIONS! I do that because I may be the only person who speaks anything positve to them all day! Some have even "yelled" at me for forgetting to say it. I try to be a light with every platform.
