Style Test Drive: Get Your Eco Glam Fix at Blowlux Beauty Bar
And the express salon train keeps on rolling. I've already told you about Drybar and Style Bar. Now, I introduce you to Blowlux, a hybrid of the two. The interior has a similar look and feel to Drybar (complete with chick flicks—that's a scene from Serendipity in the pic above for you non-romcom buffs), but also offers makeup and nails in addiiton to blowouts (all can be done simultaneously) just like Style Bar does. Like its peers, the establishment's services are in the $30 range. So what exactly is Blowlux's X factor, you ask? It's eco-friendly! And, to us, that's pretty major!
Located in an adorable, lush neighborhood in Playa Vista, Calif., the gorgeous beauty bar only uses green and cruelty-free products, including their own hair care line. The Shine & Repair Serum, for instance, combines jojoba and argan Oil with other rejuvenating all-natural ingredients. Plus, it smells divine—like lavender heaven!
My experience at Blowlux was amazing. Not only was the atmostphere relaxing and just plain cute, but I really loved what they did to my hair. Naturally, I requested a mix between BE Flirty (loose curls) and BE a Diva (volume).
Style was definitely not sacrificed at the environmentally responsible space. They got my hair to Brigitte Bardot heights and my eye makeup and lashes were beautiful. All of that in under an hour! I can see why Rachel Bilson, Kate Bosworth and Cindy Crawford keep on coming back.
