Sharlinda Knows Her Way Around a Toolbox!
When we said Sharlinda Parker is every woman, we meant every woman. The entrepreneur hasn't just built a successful empire, she literally likes to build things. Read on for the scoop on that!
What would people be surprised to know about you?
I love to build stuff! The women in my family are really creative and hands on. I will watch HGTV and get inspired.
Really?! What kinds of furniture have you built?
I'm always creating something. I built a chest in my son's playroom. I also built a giant sandbox for my son's beach-themed birthday party that I threw for him two yeas ago. I had a truck deliver tons of sand to my house. It looked like the beach! I hang chandeliers, too. I'm terrified to get up there, but I get it done!
Does it take a long time for you to build something?
It doesn't take a long time because I think out what I want to do first. I get all my supplies before I start building so that I can get straight to it.
Is there something special that you want to buld next?
I really want to make a bed. That's a secret that no one knows! I just need all the proper tools and learn to cut on angles. Other than that, I would want the bed to go to the ceiling, and have it be on a low platform. In my vision, it's incredible.
What's your tip for women who want to be handy like you?
Women definitely need a tool kit if they want to be hands on and do handy stuff around the house. Make sure you have your personal electric drill and all of the bits and pieces that you need because you don't want to keep running back and forth to the store when you've started on a project. Find a starter kit!
