Rose's Fashion Rules for Style-Savvy Gals

How would you describe your style?
In one word: Chic. I love feminine styles, but I think to add interest, you need to mix it up with at least one edgy piece. I usually do this through my accessories. I am also well-known by all for hating color. I think its attention seeking and a bit tacky, so I prefer to go with neutral colors like blush, beige, white and black. My ultimate goal with my style is to always look well put-together without looking like I am trying too hard.

What trends are you most looking forward to for 2013?
I am super excited about the pastel color palette that is trending for spring. I think mint and blush are such sweet colors, and I can definitely see myself incorporating them into my life. During the summer, I will be obsessed with the nautical trend, especially stripes! You can bet I will have stripes in my apparel, jewelry, shoes and bags!

Who is your fashion icon?
Victoria Beckham has been my style icon since 1997! I truly identified with her as a young girl, and as her style has evolved, I have moved along with her. I also think that she has been one of the only celebrities to start their own line and actually produce incredible work.

Who are your favorite fashion designers?
I've been a huge Diane Von Furstenberg fan ever since I can remember, and I am blown away with her collections every season. In my teens, I was able to pick a DVF dress for my birthday dinner every year, so she's definitely a very special designer to me. I also love what she stands for personally—empowering women, education and environmental protection.

Do you have a favorite accessory?
My Philip Stein watch was my college graduation gift. It has come in handy in life because it has two time zones. Since I travel for work, it has become my go-to accessory—functional and stylish!

What has been your most memorable splurge?
My favorite splurge has been my Chanel "Classic" bag. I absolutely love it and wear it all year long.

What is your best styling trick?
A true style-savvy gal can always mix and match her high and low fashion. If you can't walk into a Forever 21 or H&M and put together a fierce outfit, you're not a true fashionista.
