Johnny Powers Through Breakup to Make a Fab Viral Video!
I didn't plan on asking Kimora to be involved in the viral video because she was already so busy, but Don wanted Kimora to be in. That put even more pressure on me to get her on board with the idea. I was so freaking nervous to talk to her about it! But getting Kimora involved became my number one priority, and I'm glad that Don was there to help me.
The audition process for the video was simpler: I was going to let anyone who wanted to be a part of the video be able to participate in it but choose the top five to seven dancers of that group to be featured. The video is a fun concept, and I wanted everyone who was involved to have fun. I thought the auditions went well. It was a really busy month at JustFab, so I was happy with the turnout, especially since the auditioners were taking time out of their busy work schedules.
The day of my breakup was horrible and stressful. I don't really want to get into details, but it definitely hurt. I was really digging that guy and being dumped out of the blue upset me. I was happy that I was being kept busy with work so that I could take my mind off of my personal life. Even so, it was difficult to hear Jess and Katie tell me to just get over it. I had a huge project to complete and not being in the right state of mind didn't help—I just wanted their support. However, work is work, and I had to pull through for the team, Kimora and me.
Luckily, Rose always surprises me! I love her big heart and how she's always trying to help a friend out. I was happy that she set me up on a date, but I wasn't thrilled that the date was the night before the music video shoot! So much to do, so little Johnny time.
I wasn't really nervous about the date, though, because I didn't have time to be nervous! Off the bat, I could tell Rose must have told Dustin some really good things about me, because he was really liking everything about me! There was really good chemistry, and I totally loved his personality. I'm super glad Rose set me up with a guy who had a great sense of humor. It was a breath of fresh air and definitely got me over what's-his-name!
But back to the viral video shoot. It was a crazy time! I had to plan outfits, go shopping for props and figure out the shot list. I also had to figure out what all of the dancers were going to be wearing, get t-shirts made for all of us and coordinate everyone's schedules. There was a lot of second guessing and figuring things out. I think I did the best job that I could under those circumstances.
And the shoot went well! A lot of fabulosity got captured on video. I'm glad that people will get to see another side of me—in addition to being the drama king, I'm also a popstar! Maybe I can be the drama-king-of-pop one day!
I'm also relieved that Kimora took the chance of possibly making a fool out of herself to be a part of this crazy video concept. It really meant a lot to have the president of our company want to help out in a such a public way. Fabsolutely love her!
The most nervewracking part about premiering the video to the entire JustFab team was waiting! Kimora and Don were in meetings, and I was so nervous that they wouldn't show up! I was also nervous because I didn't see the final cut before the presentation. All I cared about was getting laughter out of Don and for him to not exit from the room in disgust. Success!
