Jerseylicious Recap: Olivia Does Amish Country!
Olivia Blois Sharpe is the queen of the smoky eye on Jerseylicious! In this episode recap, the loyal makeup artist talks Amish Country over Atlantic City, Jackie's fight with Tracy and Gigi's return to the Gatsby.
WHAT VACATION?: I know being understaffed stressed Gayle out, but I couldn't believe that she forgot about my vacation entirely! I was really upset, but I'm good at hiding emotions, which comes in handy a lot. I sucked it up and changed my plans, because Gayle has always looked out for me, and I wanted to return the favor.
SORRY, AC: I was worried about telling Mikey about the change in plans because he took off of work, and that's almost impossible for him to do. He was really looking forward to having fun and relaxing together, too! So, I decided that we should go to Amish Country, because if I could only have a weekend off, I wanted to relax. I thought it would be a fun experience for us to have, plus there would've been too many temptations in AC between the pool parties, all-night gambling, clubbing and shopping.
AMISH SHOCK: How can people not have animal print clothes and accessories? No TV, cars, zippers or buttons? Fine. But, no leopard print? They must be buggin'! I guess to each their own. It was definitely a lot quicker and easier to get ready than normal, but I'd much rather take hours and be able to live in a world of bandeau tops, high-waisted pleather pants and hemlines above the knees.
BEEFCAKE BF: Mikey can come off as a meathead beefcake, but he's really not. Well, he is a beefcake, but he has a sweet mushy center under that rockhard outer shell. He wasn't thrilled at first, but all he cares about is us spending time together, regardless of where we are. I knew the two of us could make Amish Country fun, and we had a great time, even if we totally resembled Marisa Tomei and Joe Pesci when they went to Alabama in My Cousin Vinny. Good thing that happens to be one of our favorite movies!
BACK IN JERSEY: When Anthony told me that Tracy and Gigi were going to work at the salon, I felt blindsided. The space is crowded as is, and not for nothing, but Tracy and I aren't exactly buddies, so working three feet away from each other wasn't my idea of a good time. Ant's salon was always a drama-free little sanctuary for me—I felt completely comfortable with everyone working there. I knew that feeling was going to change!
JACK ATTACK: Jackie and I have been good friends since we were 11 years old. We grew up together, so she knows everything about me and what I've been through, including my history with Tracy. Jackie was just trying her best to set a level of respect for all of us since we were going to be working together, and I'm thankful, because she really had my back. She may have overreacted a little because of her hormones. She's normally a peacemaker, so I was surprised—and a little impressed at the same time!
GIGI RETURNS: It's ah-may-zing that Gayle rehired Gigi! I'm so happy to have her back! I really missed having my girl around, and it's great that Gayle hired a new guy, Anthony Tango. Having a barber will be a great addition to the Gatsby, but I do wonder who he's gonna get hit on by more, Michelle or Miguel!
