Ladies in Red

Designers are seeing red for Fall 2013. On day 2 of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week the color trend was apparent in wildly divergent collections. The news: there is no single rouge tone. Every shade, from maroon to crimson, is celebrated.

Here, CZAR by Cesar Galindo. The designer mixes the glamour of full-length dresses and jumpsuits (think Halston-esque disco elegance) with futuristic fabrics that have inventive, shiny effects.

Noon by Noor was a whole different story, reminding us of a wealthy boarding school girl. Rich velvets, autumnal plaids, and yummy reds evoking fall foliage made us want to go back to high school.

Yet this clothing is 100% for grown-ups. It was an amazing collection, not a "miss" in the bunch, and a major advance from Noor's spring 2013 collection.
