Fashion Schools Tracy in Weave Academy
I have 23 years of experience in cosmetology. I've done a lot of hair for popular music videos and have worked on many models and actresses throughout the years. When Anthony asked me to teach a Weave Academy class I was excited about being able to show off my craft that I've spent so many years learning.
The others at AR Salon were always so interested in how I created amazing styles on women with my weaving technique so being able to teach them was an honor. Thinking it was going to be an AR Staff thing and just a few others from various salons, I was taken aback when I saw Gayle come in for the class. Of course, I didn't mind her being there but in light of her and Cathy G's tumultuous relationship, I wasn't sure if it would be the best experience for all. I really just wanted the day to be peaceful -who knew I would be the one in the battle that day.
Tracy says I haven't liked her from the beginning and she's right. She has a big territorial problem! I have no clue why because we as stylists don't even do the same type of work. She teases hair, and I'm a weavologist. At the end of the day, we should be able to get along. At the Weave Academy I gave a little constructive criticism about the way she braided her client because the foundation of the weave is the most important part, and I wanted her to get it right. I can't believe she got so mad and even motioned to stab me when I turned my back. If she just would have listened to what I said about how to braid the track it would not have been wrong.
She really reminds me of how I was when I first started out doing hair, a big know-it-all. Time and patience is what she needs to grow in this business, and she should be taking advantage of my knowledge. I wish I had someone like me around when I was learning, so I wouldn't make as many mistakes. She is very determined, as was I when I was her age.
Everyone did really well that day, but Tracy surprised me the most by doing the best out of everyone. I wouldn't mind teaching her everything I know because I think she would be a good weavologist. I can tell she really wants to learn and can be great at it. I hope our future at AR Salon gets better. We shall see.
