Dakota Fanning and Selena Gomez Raise Eyebrows with Back-to-Back Cosmopolitan Covers

Dakota Fanning is 17. She graces the February cover of Cosmopolitan magazine, which is on stands now. Her 18th birthday is February 23.

Selena Gomez is already 18 (she hit that milestone last July). She'll appear on Cosmo's upcoming March cover girl.

Both girls are gorgeous, have been on many mag covers and can stake claim to distinct yet mature senses of style. In fact, Dakota has been the face of Marc Jacobs, and Selena has her own clothing line at Kmart. While all of those things combined with their massive successes may make them more grown up than most gals their age, this doesn't take away the fact that both barely out-of-high-school teenagers cover one of the most sexual mags out there.

"Too naughty to say here! But you have to try this sex trick," is the headline written right over Dakota's stomach, after all. Granted, she's essentially covered up in a bedazzled pink mini. Selena, on the other hand, has her cleavage on full display in a bright floral maxi. (Also, what's with the three things bubble? At least switch it up a bit, will ya, Cosmo?)

We don't cringe easily, but we were surprised that both girls are on back-to-back issues of Cosmo. Were there no 20-year-old starlets available? Okay, fine—there are far more scandalous ways to shake the tween star image. But this doesn't scream completely wholesome either.
