Briella Breaks Down Her Evolving Style
Hair stylist Briella Calafiore follows the beat of her own "sexual" drummer. The fearless bombshell is as bold as can be—whether it's her out-of-the-box ideas that sometimes get her in trouble at the Glam Factory or her fire engine-red lips. But the Gemini has another side to her: She's deeply spiritual and in tune with the universe. In fact, her first words ever to this editor was not "Hi! What's your name?" they were, "What's your sign?" You can catch her on season-two of Glam Fairy, which premieres Sunday, October 7, at 9/8c on Style. Describe your personal style in five words or less.
My style is high-waisted, sexy, random and creative.
Which dresses do you absolutely love to wear?
I'm not really into the tutu thing. Jessica [Romano] is into that. Me? Not so much. I really like dresses that are form-fitting—not too tight. I also like dresses that are classic. I usually go for a basic black dress. I've been wearing a lot of maxidresses lately, too. I like how comfortable they are.
How about shoes? Which styles do you really like?
I'm actually into the classic pump that's in now. It's got a small heel—not really platform at all. I love that style because my feet don't hurt at all at the end of the night, but it still elongates my legs. It makes any ensemble look classy.
What type of handbag are you rocking these days?
I have a gold-studded beige one from Bakers. It's like a duffel bag. I'm in love with it! At night, I carry clutches.
What's your your jewelry personality?
Ninety nine percent of the time, I wear gold jewelry. Gold looks better with my skin tone. Gold is also very glitzy, very standout-ish. I'm into watches. I have two Michael Kors watches and a Marc Jacobs watch that I really like. I almost always have a watch on. Then, I like to mix my chunky bracelets with my watch. I usually have big earrings in, too. I have a gold necklace that says "Breezy" on it that I've been wearing it every single day. It's my favorite thing so far. My jewelry is feminine and edgy. Lately, I've been trying to stay away from anything tacky or cheap.
What would we find in your eyewear collection?
I really like my white Dolce & Gabbana aviator sunglasses. I always find myself buying cheap sunglasses because I always lose them. I also like the really nerd glasses. Those are cute.
What are you obsessed with in terms of fashion?
I'm currently obsessed with anything ‘90s. I'm going through a '90s phase. I like that fashion a lot.
What kinds of pieces do you like to buy for your home?
I like vintage for my home. I have this white ceramic hand holding up the peace sign that I put my jewelry, which I love because I'm very spiritual as well. I'm really into Marilyn Monroe. If I ever see a photo of Marilyn Monroe, I'll get it for my home and get it framed. I'm into anything inspirational.
If your house was on fire, what would you grab from your closet?
I don't get attached to inanimate objects. I would be worrying about my family, my dogs and my computer.
