I'm traveling a lot with children. What are beauty products that are good for all ages?
—Alyssa
Admit it. You've peeked into your 14 year-old cousin's makeup bag to see exactly what she's hiding in there. At first glance, it might seem like a crazy jungle of glitter polish strips, Justin Bieber perfume, and acne strips, but those crazy kids might be getting a few things right.
Check out these favorite "meant for kids" products to help take your summertime look from drab to fab. (And seriously, put down that bottle of Bieber perfume. We see you!)
Oh and if getting tips from a teen isn't going back far enough for you, we also borrowed some beauty secrets from a couple of napping toddlers. Yes, we have no shame.
Bonne Bell Bronzer
This gel bronzer has a cult following for a reason: it's got a gorgeous, totally washable glow. Perfect for ladies with a fear of (color) commitment, this bronze will last all day and wash off easily at night. Pair your new faux tan with a tube of Bonne's Dr. Pepper lip balm, and wait for those middle school memories to come rushing back.
Diaper Rash Ointment
Yes, really. Diaper cream. Its super thick consistency and soothing ointment will smooth your sandal-worn heels in a flash. Plus, most creams contain zinc oxide, a powerful weapon against the sun's rays. Use it as a remedy the next time you forget to put sunscreen on the tops of your feet. Ouch!
L'oreal Kids Detangler
The bright green bottle will look super cute in your beach bag, and the pear scent will have the boys swarming like sharks. Spritz this on between swim (or lounge) sessions at the pool to prevent nasty snarls. And even though big girls don't cry, this kids detangler is formulated for no tears. Just in case.
Mustela Facial Cleansing Cloths
Meant for a baby's delicate skin, these ultra-sensitive wipes are a steal (only $7.50 a pop!). And the re-sealable package means you can cart them to the gym, beach, or wherever you need a quick refresher. They're alcohol free, smell super fresh, and are guaranteed not to irritate even the most finicky of faces.
Johnson's Baby Oil Gel (with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E)
Step 1: Slather this sweet smelling oil on your legs post-shower. Step 2: Fend off modeling agents begging you to be in the next Victoria's Secret runway show. Okay, so it might not morph you into the next Marissa Miller, but it will leave your legs feeling sleek, shiny, and supermodel-worthy… even if you're 5'3".
xx, G
