25 & Counting! Tamera Proudly Shares Her Weight Loss Progress
Since having Aden last November, I have lost 25 lbs. I'm past the halfway mark of my weight loss goal of 48 lbs! It sounds like I'm losing the weight fast, but, of course, the first 20 lbs are the easiest because of breastfeeding—and the first 10 lbs was your baby.
I have to admit: Losing the weight is hard! It's difficult mainly because I made the conscious decision to not have a nanny right now. I want to build my bond with my son at this time. My time is focused on him and I'm so exhausted to do anything else. Aden and I will go out and about. We go shopping sometimes. But, for the most part, I'm at home with my son and I love it.

Since I'm home a lot, I signed up for a food delivery service called Paleta. They are amazing! The food is phenomenal. They cook the food according to your needs. Because I'm breastfeeding, I wanted to make sure that I didn't eat certain things that can cause colic in my baby. I just told them what I couldn't eat and the meals are still delicious. I'm only eating healthy carbs, like fruits and vegetables. I love their apple slices and almond butter. I love their meatless Mondays. They make the best meatless meals.
In addition to getting healthy meals delivered and breastfeeding Aden, I'm also going on walks. My friends Cheri and Andrea come over in the evening. Adam will watch Aden while I go out for a walk. That's when they have father and son time.

Overall, I'm in no rush to drop the pounds. I did my research and, naturally, you're supposed to lose a pound or two a week after having a baby. If you do it steadily, you will keep it off. Other than that, the women are just inherently prone to losing weight.
I've accepted the fact that it took me nine months to get the body that I had when I was pregnant. It's going to take nine months to a year to get back the body that I had before.

I'm learning that women who've just given birth, like myself, must be kind to themselves. They have to be patient. They have to adjust to their new body. It's hard. I didn't know what to wear because I had pre-pregnancy clothes and pregnancy clothes…what do you wear in between? At first, I thought, Oh my gosh, I don't have this baby anymore! Why am I so heavy?! But each and every day, I began to feel more comfortable in my skin.
Once you feel that way, losing the weight becomes a fun journey.
